Micha Molthoff

Since 20 years violinist Micha Molthoff has been involved in music, theatre and film productions. At the moment he is working on the score for the modern dance show Crazy Blues by IDT Amsterdam.

Micha Molthoff is the founder and violinist of tango quintet Zárate and primarius of Gran Orquesta Típica Otra. As a professor of violin he teaches at Codarts University for the Arts in the Netherlands.

Micha played in many music theatre productions, wrote numerous scores for documentary movies, participated in classical ensembles and orchestras and occasionally worked as an actor and a singer

Katrien Karimoen

Katrien Karimoen was a student of Herman Uhlhorn, Gustavo Beytelmann and Carel Kraayenhof. With Zárate, which she is part of from the very beginning, she played concerts and milongas all over  The Netherlands and abroad. They made several cd's and theatreshows with  Frank Groothof, Tango La Zapada and the Internationaal Danstheater. Katrien Karimoen plays, composes and arranges. She coaches different tango-ensembles, teaches at the Wereldmuziekschool and gives workshops.

Gerard Splint

Gerard Splint studied classical guitar with Lex Eisenhardt at the Sweelinck Conservatory and Jazz/improvisation with guitar legend Pat Martino in Philadelphia. He played theater shows for 2 years with Frank Groothof. Gerard is a part of Zárate from the very beginning were he plays electric guitar.

He also works as a guitar teacher at different music schools throughout the Netherlands.
